CSA (Cycling South Africa) rules apply

  • NO HELMET NO RIDE! STRIP HELMETS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
  • All cyclists participating in the 110km, 77km, 48km and 30km races must be licensed or purchase a day license.
  • No postal entries will be accepted.
  • Number plates must be affixed to the handlebars.
  • Cyclists must obey all traffic rules and traffic officials, marshals, officials and route signs, otherwise they will be disqualified.
  • Cyclists to keep to the left of the road/path to allow a free flow of traffic. Cyclists must pull off the road/path to do repairs.
  • CYCLISTS MUST STOP AT WATER POINTS IF THEY WISH TO RECEIVE REFRESHMENTS. Please ensure that you keep hydrated. Humidity levels easily exceeds 95%
  • No cyclist may deviate from the route. A sweep marshal will collect stranded cyclists.
  • NO LITTERING WILL BE ALLOWED.
  • NO SMOKING OR OPEN FIRES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE ROUTE.
  • An adult participant must accompany children under 10 years of age at all times.
  • No seconds or vehicles are allowed to follow the cyclists.
  • The race referee will adjudicate on any dispute including the interpretation of these rules and his ruling shall be final and binding.
  • The organisers shall be entitled, if they deem it necessary, to amend, remove, or add to these rules.
  • Cyclists who are not present at the prize giving ceremony will forfeit their prizes.
  • Race cut-off times apply. Cut-off times is available on the website, and will be briefed prior to the race commencement
  • The race organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury incurred
  • In order to be timed riders must have a registered RaceTec chip. Chips can be checked at registration. All timing queries to be addressed to Racetec directly
  • Riders ride on own risk. Neither the organisers or the land owners will be responsible for any injury / loss.

As you will be cycling through the beautiful mountains, there will be areas without cellphone reception.
